4MASS is a cosmetics manufacturer operating in both the mass market and professional segments.

The company develops its own cosmetic brands, delivering products available in popular retail chains as well as solutions dedicated exclusively to professionals in the beauty industry.

 

Needs

Before the project began, 4MASS was selling online through a retail-focused e-commerce store. The solution worked well for B2C sales, but as cooperation with business clients grew, the company needed a tool better suited to the specifics of wholesale selling.

In online wholesale, what matters is not just product availability, but also the ability to place orders quickly, individual commercial terms, access to up-to-date information, and a convenient purchasing process.

4MASS therefore needed to create a dedicated sales environment for business clients that would support daily cooperation with contractors and allow wholesale growth independently of the retail channel.

An important goal was also to streamline the flow of data between sales and the ERP system. Information about products, prices, stock levels, and orders needed to remain consistent and up-to-date across the entire organization.


Project challenges

1. Large orders and hundreds of products in a single cart

Business clients in the cosmetics industry often order dozens or hundreds of different products in a single transaction. The system had to handle complex shopping carts efficiently, regardless of the number of items in the order.

2. Complex pricing policy and promotions

Different customer groups operated under different commercial terms. Additionally, some promotions could be combined, while others were mutually exclusive. Every order required correct calculation of prices, discounts, and promotions regardless of the number of products in the cart.

3. Fast order placement for business clients

For regular purchases, manually adding hundreds of products to a cart would be too time-consuming. The project required a solution allowing clients to quickly create large orders based on previously prepared product lists.

4. Continuous ERP synchronization

Products, prices, stock levels, and orders had to be continuously exchanged between the sales platform and the Vendo ERP system. Maintaining data consistency regardless of the number of users and transactions was critical.

5. Overall system performance

Handling large carts, complex promotions, and continuous data exchange with ERP could not affect user experience. The system had to perform fast both during order placement and during price and promotion calculations.

 

Solutions

1. Advanced promotion and pricing engine

One of the key elements of the project was implementing an advanced promotion and pricing engine responsible for automatically calculating all commercial terms in the system.

The platform simultaneously handles:

  • individual price lists assigned to clients and contractor groups,
  • product discounts,
  • volume discounts,
  • cart promotions,
  • order value-based conditions,
  • time-limited promotions,
  • promotions assigned to selected customer groups.

An important element was also mapping the relationships between promotions. Some can run in parallel and be combined, while others are mutually exclusive. The system automatically analyzes all applicable rules and selects the correct pricing and discount scenario.

As a result, business clients always see prices consistent with their commercial terms, and the sales team retains full control over pricing policy without manual order handling.

2. Order import from Excel files

To streamline large order placement, we implemented a product import function directly from Excel files.

A client can prepare a product list with quantities and add them to the cart in a single action. The system automatically identifies products, assigns the appropriate prices, and applies applicable promotions.

This solution significantly reduces the time needed to prepare orders containing dozens or hundreds of items.

3. Integration with Vendo ERP

The platform was integrated with the Vendo ERP system through an automated data exchange mechanism.

Synchronized data includes:

  • products,
  • prices,
  • stock levels,
  • orders,
  • contractors and their users.

As a result, users always work with current data, and the company does not need to maintain the same information across multiple systems.

4. Platform performance optimization

The nature of the project required particular focus on overall system performance. The platform had to calculate prices, discounts, and promotions for many products simultaneously in real time.

During each calculation the system accounted for:

  • individual client price lists,
  • product discounts,
  • volume discounts,
  • cart promotions,
  • promotion combination rules,
  • promotion exclusion rules.

At the same time, the platform handled background processes:

  • data synchronization with Vendo ERP,
  • stock level updates,
  • order data exchange,
  • handling carts containing hundreds of products.

A significant portion of the work was therefore dedicated to optimizing data processing and price calculation. As a result, the platform maintains high performance even under heavy load and complex sales scenarios.

Thanks to ERP integration, order automation, and advanced pricing policy support, the company gained a solution tailored to the specifics of wholesale selling in the beauty industry, ready for further business growth.
